City Reach Prayer
Guerneville with Pastor Jack
Sept 1, 2006

(Harry Skandera)

Welcome everybody. Welcome to City Reach Prayer
Before we go ahead and get into praying for you here in Guerneville, I want to ask those of you who live here if you would pray for us. If you would accept our repentance? If you would ask the Lord to forgive us? So, this isn't something that you can work out, but I know that God is speaking to many of our hearts. If you are from some place else in Sonoma County, I would like to ask you if you could join me where I am standing here and allow those who live here to pray for us and receive our repentance. Will you do that?

If you believe that you have a place in your heart to repent for your own attitude and for those that we stand for in the county. Everybody other than the river people.

I know that there are others who would love to be here tonight and God has been putting this area on their hearts, but they just couldn't get here now, but they will be here a little bit later. I know that their lot is here in this circle with us, because it was here last night. I would like to ask Forest Brandon from Petaluma to speak for the rest of us in terms of our own heart attitude for this place, and then I would like to ask the rest of you who are from here to pray for us.

(Forest Brandon)

Last night the Lord really spoke to our hearts, I think mostly from the book of Romans chapter 12 about love without hypocracy. About loving with God's love and loving despite what may appear to be unlovable. That when we reach the Father's heart, we find a whole different picture, and that is what happened to us last night and what's been happening to us for some time.

I would just like to pray on behalf of the cities and counties that are represented here tonight and others that are not here, but will be. I would like us to call upon you here from Guerneville to forgive us, for our hearts attitude, our judgement toward this city and towards what God has been doing here. God has been doing a wonderful work here in Guerneville and we are aware of that, some of those things we know about. God has always had a people here. God has always had a remnant here and He has a great plan and a great purpose for this place and we are honored to be here today. We bring our blessing and our peace from our cities. We bring to you our prayers and our faith in Christ, that He is releasing a new rising river of a different sort for this place and His spirit.

Let's pray together.

Father God, first and foremost we pray that you would forgive us for the attitude that we have had and the judgements that we have cast on this place, that is so obviously a place where the imprint of your work stands out in relief to much of the world. A beautiful, beautiful place filled with trees, river, flowers, beautiful people and a great landscape O God, that is the handiwork of the Almighty. Father, forgive us, for we have trespassed against your holy purposes and designs for this place and this people. God, we pray that you would strengthen our heart and release to us a fresh anointing and a peace from on high and the love of Jesus for Guerneville and the inhabitants of this place. For the businesses that are represented here, the church that is alive and well in this place, for the people that call Guerneville their home, for the people who live outside of homes, but call this their home. Father, we pray that you would bring a mighty blessing on this land.

We come, O God, in the name of Jesus, in the authority of Christ to stand with the church in Guerneville, to possess this land for the glory of God. Father, let your name be praised here. Let it be exalted and magnified as never before. Let the river rise, let the rain fall of your presence and fill this place oh God, with your holy presence we pray in Jesus name, Amen.

(Amber)

Father, a shift is happening and I am seeing it explode right before my eyes and I thank you for these leaders Lord. I thank you for their true heart and I thank you for their repentance and I accept their forgiveness Father. I pray that you would release a mighty blessing on them and upon their families. I am so excited and I thank you Father for what you are going to do. You are going to reach the homosexual community here. You are going to reach the drug addicts, because they are your sons and daughters. We say no to Satan and say that he has to take his hands off of this town. We thank you Lord that you have sent your Joel 2 armies Lord, and we stand in formation, we stand side by side and we don't go over ranks. We honor the leaders and we honor one another God. I just thank you for my leaders, Father God. I honor them Father. Thank you Father.

Lord, let there be a breakthrough for Pastor Jack tonight and for the faith community here in Guerneville. We want to ask a greater covering over him. We pray that you would bring to our mind daily to be praying our brother Jack and for the church here.

Father, as your children come and offer their hearts of repentance before you, we know that you are the one who gives us repentance in our hearts, but Father, we see this as a gift of love. We want to thank you for this gift that you have given us this night and this night forward. We receive this as you moving in your spirit to confirm in our hearts, minds and in our lives, that you have not forsaken this town, that you have forsaken this part of the county. Lord, I believe with all of my heart that you want to show yourself strong. Father, we receive the repentant hearts with gladness, even as you do Lord. We ask today Lord, that we would all work together as one out here in the Russian River area, the gift to northern California. We just praise you for what you have done here tonight Lord, and we are honored to be a part of this.

(Harry Skandera)

Last night as we finished praying, we considered what we might do to symbolize what we wanted to see happen. You know, in the Bible, when people went to a new place and/or went to a new level, they would put up an alter, an Ebenezer. I asked the people from the different cities if they would bring a stone tonight to put down here and to bless this place. Of course, it isn't a matter of just a stone that comes from a different city, but it is a spiritual act of a stone from one place being brought to another as an altar, as a sacrifice laid down to institute a new thing. Those of you who have come and have brought your stones, maybe we could just put them here in the middle. We are Living Stones in ChristI was at the spot at the Santa Rosa Creek where it received it's name. You can read in the history books of course about the history of Santa Rosa's name, but it is about the Catholic missionaries that came north from San Rafael and they came upon a group of Native Americans at the juncture of Santa Rosa Creek and one of the other creeks and a crowd gathered and they shared the Gospel. One young Indian maiden stepped forward, she stepped forward and was baptized. At the conclusion of the baptism, the priests had to run for their lives, because it stirred up something spiritually. The Native Americans there realized that there had been a transfer of allegiance in the area. That baptism happened on St. Rose day, so the creek was named Santa Rosa and our city became named that. So, we were literally birthed in the birthing of a new spiritual beginning in the area, and so, in that spirit, receive this stone from that creek. We believe that is what tonight is about as well.

We spent a couple of hours last night in prayer and part of what the Lord dealt with, with us was some of the things that we have shared, and we began to pronounce blessing over this place. We know that there are a number of things that God is stirring among you here and we wanted to take this time that we have to intercede, pray for and support you and to begin in good faith that path with you.

I am aware of a number of people here who have been doing a number of things here. Pastor Jack of course has been really busy. I know that there are a number of ladies who have been faithful to intercede in weekly prayer meetings and we definitely want to pray for you. Also, one of the things that is on our hearts is that, there are three cities in our county at this point, where there is intensional intercession that is going on for the city and for the county. We know that there are probably hundreds of people over the years that have prayed and are presently praying for many different things in our county, but we are not aware of that intentionality and purpose. One of the things that God put on our hearts as we prayed, is that we hope that Guerneville will become the fourth city to come and gather with us once a month to pray intentionally for our cities and for the county and so we are extending that to you. You may want to consider what all that is, but we want you to know that we believe that God has said, " There are a lot of cities in this county, but the one that is ready to come on-line right now is probably the one that you least expected", and it was quoted last night, "What good can come out of Nazareth"? So, you can see that we are on the same page.

What we would like to do if we could, is rather than walk to the church, we would like to pray for Pastor Jack. Jack, would you share something that we could pray for you in that regard.

(Pastor Jack)

As you were speaking, I was just back there thinking that I feel like the devil just wants to take me out. I feel like he wants to kill me. Just to give you an idea of why I am here in the first place. I grew up here in Guerneville as a kid and then I moved to Sacramento. I had a dream right after I got saved, some of you have heard this, but I had a dream that I was preaching in Guerneville and I kept having this incredible dream over and over again. What made it incredible was that I was flying. That building right over there, on the other side of it was where I was preaching and I knew the building, because I grew up here. It used to be called Mark's Rex-all drugs. I stopped having the dream and then God put it on my heart to move to Santa Rosa, actually back to this area, and when I finally got out here and I came through the family Christian store thing, I was driving out here and the dream came back to me, that I was preaching in Guerneville. All of a sudden I realized that it was God who birthed that dream, it was God who created everything for it to happen. It wasn't me, it was just me following the spirit of God, but my heart has always been for Guerneville, even when I wasn't living here. I have seen Guerneville change in such an incredible way, a negative way, but I know that God is more powerful than the negatives that are out here. I know that God wants to restore this area in a very special way. With that said, the devil would like to take me out. He knows my heart and he knows my desire, what I want to do and that many of you have rallied around me and so, beware, you may be next on his line. My prayer request tonight would be that the attacks would stop coming. They have been so hard, to the point that even my family has turned against me. There is a lot going on, but without getting into details, my heart is heavy and I feel as though my heart is giving out, and that is where I am at tonight.

But, as I see this here tonight I have hope. If I have to sacrifice my life for the rest of this town, so be it. I am willing to do whatever has to be done for this dream, this vision. To see this continue on and to stay the course. My prayer request is that my family and myself would be protected, because I see the enemy would like to take us out.

(Harry Skandera)

Thank you Jack.

We are going to need to keep in order tonight, because there is many things. I would like to ask if the pastor's that are here would step forward and come over here to our Ebenezer and lay hands on Jack and pray for him. I would ask the rest of us to lay hands on them and pray with the pastors silently, so that they can pray what is on their heart.

(Prayer)

(Sam Tillery)

Father, your word says that when one member of the body suffers, we all suffer and when one member is attacked, we each are attacked. We know that the enemy wants to kill the vision and the dream that you have placed in Jack to make a difference in this community. So, Father, we know that it isn't Jack that he wants to kill, but the dream, vision and purposes of God which he carries.

Father, we ask you that you would stand guard. We come not as individuals, but as representing congregations and various cities throughout this county coming together as one, humbled in saying that we need one another. We seek to answer your prayer in John 17 that we would be one so that the world may believe. Father, we come together as one with Jack. Father, we ask that you would push back the works of darkness that has come against he and his family and that which has come against each one of us. So, Father we carry that and we ask that you would bring forth your eternal purpose in his life. That which is discouraged, beat down, weary and exhausted, that you would lift him up. Touch him in ways that he has never been touched by You. Father, that you would lift any blinders, whatever ways in which there is division, conflict or misunderstanding within his family and pray that you would bring about a oneness in Christ. Father, would you step into those quiet places in each heart in his family and bring forth your eternal perspective. Father, would you revive and restore and strengthen for your glory and for your honor.

(Steve Puleo)

I feel like we need to hold up his hands.Pastor Jack Father, we are here doing this as an act to demonstrate the way that we feel in our hearts toward him, that we desire to hold him up in this battle and we will not let go. No weapon formed against him shall prosper, nor his household, nor this church. Father, we just speak light where the enemy has tried to bring darkness and death. We speak to the powers of darkness and we cast down every lie, every false imagination, every thought that puffs itself up against the knowledge of Christ. Father, we ask that you would come in like a flood of peace, into his home, marriage and church. God, restore, strengthen and heal in the name of Jesus we pray. As we hold him up Lord, we pray that you would strengthen him spirit, soul and body, in Jesus name.

(Sam Tillery)

Father, raise up leaders to stand with him. Strengthen those who intercede now and bring others who will intercede for he and his family as they bring forth Godly leadership. Father, in his weakness you have said that you are his strength, so strengthen the intercessors here in Guerneville. Raise them up and bring them forth, that not only Jack, but many others would come forth out of the closet. We as Christians have been in the closet. May we step forward and petition you and declare your truths. Father, unite the body of Christ in Guerneville. Bring them forth marching on their knees, dependent upon you. Father, we ask that you would give Jack a specific sign, a clear direction. Give him strength beyond his own abilities, in this time of brokenness. Father, may he see, know and experience you in ways as never before. Father, in his weakness would you move forward in supernatural power to demonstrate that you are beginning to open up the heavens and to pour out a blessing upon this place and it's people and bring forth your eternal destiny and plan for Guerneville.

Father, we thank you for the work that you have began and for the promise that you are going to complete it. We declare these things to be true, in the name that is above every name, the name of Jesus Christ our savior and Lord. We humble ourselves before and we trust that you can and will be the victor. Amen.

(Harry Skandera)

Alright, keep your powder dry. Stay with it. We have many things yet to do. We are going to bring Jack back here in just a minute.

The next thing that we want to recognize is that there are many women that gather to pray on Tuesday night and we want to pray for you. I know that some of you have businesses here in Guerneville, we are not going to pray for that right now. Right now we want to pray for the intercessors that have been praying for you. If you ladies would come up here to these stones now.

I would like the intercessors from Sonoma, Petaluma and Santa Rosa would lay hands on these ladies and I would like to ask Diane Keller, Paul Dominis and Forest Brandon if they would pray for you as they represent each one of the intentional cities. Oh, that's right, Diane isn't here, so I will pray in her place.

(Paul Dominis)

Father, we bless you for this holy huddle of women. They have been faithful in interceding and standing against the darkness and shining their light Lord. Father, I pray that you would knit them together in the spirit and in the natural and in their emotional lives Lord. Knit them together in such a way that they will become an unbreakable barrier against the enemy. Father, in Jesus name I pray for your anointing to be upon them, that they may see the things that you want them to see so that they may pray targeted prayers to destroy the works of the devil. Father, I pray for your protection, grace, peace and rest upon them and the wisdom to pull off this challenge that lies before them. Father, we pray for your love to cover all and that your blessing would make them stronger than mighty warriors. That they would become the ones, even stronger than they have been to bring about change and complete transformation of this whole canyon Lord, in Jesus name we ask this.

(Forest)

When you gather to pray, be it two, three or more, we pray let God arise and His enemies be scattered. Let the wicked be driven before you as smoke is driven by the wind. Let them melt at the presence of the holy God that we serve and love as wax melts before fire. Father God, we just call upon you to release today a fresh renewal. A release O God from on high and from you extended hand today for an anointing for prayer and supplication, for intercession on behalf of this city and neighboring area Lord God. Father fill them with your joy, with the joy of the Lord that is unspeakable and full of glory. The joy of the Lord that is our strength and out of which we can do great and marvelous things in the name of Jesus. Fill them with your peace that passes understanding. Fill them with your power O God, that enables them to do great and awesome things. Father, people that know their God shall do exploits. Father, cause the exploits to go forth. Release that anointing for powerful service in the army of our Lord and Savior. Be to them O God, the Lord of Lords, King of Kings and Lord of Hosts. Reveal yourself to them in that way, in new ways, in deeper understanding and knowledge, O God. Be to them that lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world, that has come redeeming the hearts of this people, land and place. Be to them the lion of the tribe of Judah that breaks every chain of darkness. Let the chains of darkness all break as they call on you, lion of the tribe of Judah.

Father, we also join together in praying today, that you Lord would call upon the intercession of the church of Jesus Christ around the world. Call the Koreans. Call those from Africa, Central and South America. Call upon the islands. Call upon the North American continents. Call upon Australians. Call upon Europeans. Call upon Great Britain O God, all of the places in the earth where you have the Saints of God strategically placed to pray and touch them to pray and intercede on behalf of this small place, that you might receive and awesome indication of God in this place for the nation to behold the glory of God. Release the river of your hearts desire, your purposes and plans into and out of and flowing out of this place. Grant it O God, that you might be glorified and magnified. That the name of the Lord should be known throughout this place and wherever they go, cause life to come. We speak life to this group, to their prayers and to their intercession. We speak life in Jesus name, that wherever they pray, that life would go forth in Jesus name.

(Carol Skandera)

Father, we bless these women that have already been joined and interwoven together in prayer for their city. We pray Father for a unity among them and that you would put a hedge of protection around them, that nothing could destroy that unity, so that their prayers could be focused like a laser, that in it's focus it can penetrate things that it otherwise could not on it's own, Father.

We pray for steadfast perseverance, that they would not give up, that even in this high moment now, that in the days ahead when they don't feel the same that they do at this moment, that it wouldn't effect their steadfastness.

Father, we pray that you will give them wisdom to know their sphere of prayer. That they will know the areas that you have given them authority over and which ones are not for them to approach. We pray for them Father, that they will have prayers of release for this area, that they will release your destiny here that you have had in your heart since the beginning. We just say, "Father, let it be, that what you had in your heart from the beginning would be released now and that nothing could hold it back." We stand with them to see that done.

O Father, may your kingdom come and your will be done. Let it be. What has been known as darkness here, may it be done away with and instead, may the glory of your son be revealed here. Let it be so, Lord in Jesus name.

(Harry Skandera)

We have a number of people who are here from the river and we would like you to form a line facing each other and let the rest of us pray for you.
I would like all of the rest of us who are here from elsewhere to step up. Ask briefly what you can pray for the people who live here and bless them.

(Prayer)

(Harry Skandera)

Ok, we are now going to break up into two groups to pray at two different businesses here. One group will go over to the Salon called "Creation", which was just passed on to Amber Hale from former owner Shirley Valley. The others will be going over to...

After that, we will be heading over to the Rio Nido Resort and as many of you know, that is a main spot for families and locals, especially during the hot summer days. We will be praying on the property for God's hand to be on Jack as he may be purchasing it. It is up for sale and we do not want it to become privately owned, because anything could happen and the way that privately owned property usually gets used in this area is not glorifying to God. We are praying that it would remain family owned. It may be a possible site for a Christian day camp or for a church.

It is recognized as a gateway to the rest of the Russian River and we would pray that God's praises would be heard and echo into the rest of the canyon.

We pray that God would move on hearts of anyone who would want to help invest in this project. If you yourself would like to or know of anyone who the Lord is speaking to in this regards, please have them contact Pastor Jack or call Pastor Sam Tillery.

Lastly, we will head up to Lois Sowers' new home to pray for her family and bless her property there. She just moved right up the hill from the Rio Nido Resort.

God bless all of you as you head out to pray and we will all connect up at the Resort.
