(Dave
Gould)
I am extremely blessed that you all
have come here to pray. In a nutshell Mt. Gilead is
about bringing campers to the cross of Christ,
that’s our little catchy saying, and right behind
that is to be in support to the Local Church. I would
like to see us be a support to all of the youth folks
who are in youth ministry and that is what we’re
all about and this is what I have tried to promote through
the Pastor’s Prayer and Ministry Alliance of Sonoma
County. We are blessed that you guys would even come
and take the time and come out to the woods, you know
mosquito’s are out here and everything, so we’re
blessed that you came.
Our ministry is to get kids that would
not normally come to church would be introduced to Christianity
here at this ministry, that’s what it is about,
bringing camper’s to the cross of Christ. Of course,
we do rental groups and a lot of other things here,
but that is what the vision was many, many years ago
in 1963 when we started and we stayed true to that vision,
and we don’t do a lot of things that other camps
do. We don’t do public school teaching evolution.
We won’t do that, the board said no, they can
teach creation, but they can’t teach evolution.
So we’ve stayed very specific just to be a support
to the local church, that’s what we’re doing.
We are very excited that you guys are here and you all
are welcome the back.
The reason that we put this Mt. Gilead
information booth up here is so that you could see what
we are like. A lot of times people come here and they’ve
never been here and they want an idea of what we have
to offer. Currently, I’ll just tell you really
quickly, we have about 150 Junior High kid’s here
and this is the end of their week and they are up in
the chapel. Sometime tonight you might hear them, because
we’ll be up on the mountain and they’ll
be in the valley and it may echo.
We have Sean McDowell speaking to them
who is Josh McDowell’s son and that is the speaker
this week. He is a real man of God. His wife and his
little son are here and their preaching the word and
the kids are being blessed. Tonight as soon as we finish
here, probably about 10:00 pm, I’ll go up to camp
fire and I go to every camp fire every Friday evening,
and I get to listen to what has happened in the kids
lives. So I get the privilege of doing that. I usually
write them down or record them so that I can tell other,
this is what God has done in this person’s life,
obviously I just use first names, in our private world,
but that’s it, so you can walk up the hill or
you can drive up. It’s about a 15 minute walk,
so if you’re real hearty and you want to walk,
you certainly can, otherwise we just jump in some 4-wheel
drives and head on up the hill.
(Harry Skandera)
I just want to give a testimony to
Mt. Gilead as well. I am the Dean of Spiritual Development
at Santa Rosa Christian School and every year we have
our spiritual emphasis week. Last year we had it here
at Mt. Gilead and we’ll have again this year in
the fall. We were just thrilled by the hospitality of
the camp, but even more than that, the heart of the
place. We actually hadn’t experienced baptisms
at our camp in the previous several years. We had 14
kids baptized last fall and again, it wasn’t like
we were saying, “Hey, everyone needs to be baptized”,
or anything like that, it was almost kind of a spontaneous
decision. One after another at one of our meetings,
and so we were just really pleased with that occurrence
of course, but also the atmosphere of the place. I am
sure that you can already feel that by being here tonight,
so when you pray and when you think about this place,
I ask you to really join and align yourself with what
the Lord is doing here and with the younger generation
in our county and in the others as well.
(Mildred Hodges)
Harry, I would just like to say that
there is such foundation in this place for us, because
we used to, when our children were teenagers, and now
they are grandparents, we used to come here before there
was any great facilities at all, and my daughter met
her husband here, we used to hike up this hill and have
star talks and all kinds of wonderful stuff. Years and
years of ministry are in this place.
(Sam Tillery)
I think that probably it might be good,
let’s pray a little bit down here, that way it
allows for a few more folks to come in, but we’re
going to pray for a broader scope when we get up to
the top, well not the real tippy top, but up the hill,
but let’s pray for Mt. Gilead at this time. Let’s
gather in a little closer, so everybody scoot in a little
bit tighter. Some of you like to pray with your eyes
closed and that’s fine, but I would like to encourage
you to look at this beauty and let it stimulate and
let God kind of prompt you as you think about this field
and the swimming pool and trees there, so however you
are comfortable, let’s bring Mt. Gilead in prayer
before the Lord.
(Prayer)
(Harry Skandera)
We’ve prayed tonight so far about
many things, but I would like to challenge you to consider,
not just the young people that come through here, not
just the generations who have been blessed in this place,
but consider this place. One of the first prayers prayed
tonight was actually a take-off from Psalm 24. There
are places in the earth that are gates. You could say
this is a gate, it is a gate for many young people who
enter into their life in Christ like a doorway, but
one of the reasons that we are here in this particular
peace of geography is that we believe that there really
could very well be something much more than that, and
why we’re here to go up this hill, to go to this
high place in our county is to proclaim the kingdom
of God over Sonoma County. The Bible says that these
trees and this grass and these hills are groaning for
the coming of the Son of God, for the proclamation of
the King. When He comes again, they will be free in
some way that they aren’t now. Psalm 24, the latter
part of it, says some things that I don’t really
understand, but I believe that they are to be proclaimed
when you stand at a place that you believe is some kind
of a gate.
“Lift up your heads oh ye gates!
Be lifted up you ancient doors, that the King of Glory
may come in. Who is this King of Glory? The Lord strong
and mighty. The Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your
heads oh ye gates! Be lifted up you ancient doors that
the King of Glory may come in. Who is this King of Glory?
The Lord almighty, He is the King of Glory! I do not
think that it is an accident that we are going up the
hill tonight.
“Who may ascend the hill of the
Lord? Who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean
hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul
to an idol or swear by what is false, he will receive
blessing from the Lord and vindication from God his
Savior. Such is the generation of those who seek Him,
who seek your face oh God of Jacob”, let us ascend
the hill.
(Sam Tillery)
The power of City Reach Prayer and
its distinction is in the united prayer of the saints.
Its power is not in numbers, but in representation of
different and diverse, life-giving churches and different
cities. I appreciate those of you who have come up from
Marin County as a tie, that is a powerful thing to tie
the two counties together and you all have been faithful
at that.
There are also those from Oakland and
Alameda and there was prayer in Contra Costa last night
for this group, so you know God smiles when we gather
to pray. This is not the most popular thing and I don’t
want you to get discouraged when you don’t see
lots of people, it’s not about numbers, it’s
about being steady people, to be focused and to represent
the broader aspect of the body.
From my perspective through this prayer
movement and as a pastor, I am seeing significant doors
opening that for years we have prayed into. A few examples,
well for one to thank you for praying for Harry and
myself and the team, there were 6 churches and Santa
Rosa Christian school that went Latvia and the team
came back, then I went off to Italy on a scouting mission
for a TV documentary that we are going to do for Italy
in September. The significant things happening in Latvia
tie back to the work of prayer in Sonoma County for
what God is doing there.
Many of you may or may not know, last
year when we went as a team, we ran into some problems
with the former KGB and the Russian Orthodox church,
which kind of shut us down in many respects and it was
a little discouraging. You know, you come back and you
didn’t get to do all of the things that you wanted
to do and you begin to wonder if you really made a difference
and then we had a lot of the folks in Latvia asking
us if we were going to come back, because it was a highly
intimidating situation.
They were going to put me in jail and
the whole deal, but the principal is this, if we are
in a battle, we as Christian Americans tend to get all
wigged out when trouble comes and so we give up. We
never really reach the mountaintop and begin to move
into the promise land for which God wants in the region
for which we represent. Much of the western culture
gives up, so it was certainly not in my mind to not
go back. What was a blessing this year that we saw was
that God multiplied the fruit of decisions that the
enemy seemingly took away last year.
It was an incredible testimony that
we came back and God moved, especially in the one aspect
that we did a youth camp of students from mostly non
Christian backgrounds, the rest were from various churches
and other cities and all, but one person made a decision.
There were decisions for prayer, commitment and of course
to receive Christ in a decision of faith. It was an
amazing breakthrough in that part of the world to see
99%, and who knows about that one who didn’t,
they may have made a decision as well, but you know,
the faithfulness of the Lord.
I then went on to Italy and God is
doing a significant work there. We have been supporting
a missionary there for about 28 years there who has
a phenomenal church there, probably one of the larger
churches in the country, and has trained national pastors
and have started a few other churches and they do a
large festival and outreach to the city, blessing the
city. Churches and ministries from America come and
work together with them, so it is united work in a city,
so, to make a long story short, we are going to document
it on film in September and be able to share what God
is doing to help others to see the distinction of the
ministry and of course we’re fundraising and things
of that nature.
I was able to meet with the Mayor
of the city of Arxano, which is kind of the like a suburb
city of Naples. Naples is kind of like the armpit of
the country, from a physical standpoint. It is nothing
like what you see in the pictures. It’s kind of
like L.A. with a lot of asphalt and it’s fairly
compressed and dirty, but God’s got a thriving
work and a camp ministry going. I met with the Mayor
of the city that they did the festival in the year before
last and then in the city that they are going to do
it in this next year.
What’s happening is, well of
course Santa Rosa and Sonoma county is a city and a
county of influence, and the door was open. I was able
to share with these non Christian, Catholic Mayors about
Spring Clean. I showed the video that we just finished
here and commended them for their work, had them bring
back a greeting for our Mayor, she doesn’t know
it yet, but uh, of connecting her, which we are working
really to evangelize our civil government.
The doors that are opening up looking
to us for direction is incredible. The chief of police
in the city of Casorio came to Christ and has now began
to give permits to do things that they never could do
before and by looking around you can tell that everything
is controlled by the Mafia. So we have laid the foundation
for them to do a spring clean which is much needed.
If you were to look on the leaves on the ground here,
the garbage in their city is like fallen leaves in your
yard. You don’t pick it up, you rake it. I was
blown away by the amount. I challenged the believers
when I was in there homes, which by the way are very
nice and very well kept. I said, “What is going
on here? I mean your homes are wonderful, but the city
is a dump.
Your salt and your light”, well
everybody kind of thought I was stepping out there a
little too far, but they responded. I said that when
I come back in September, I expect to see a certain
portion of this city different. I asked them if they
would raise their hand if they will make a difference
at least on their block and work together, and about
½ of the 500 people that I was speaking to, which
is a large church for evangelical people in Italy, so
we’ll see what happens. I wanted to share that,
because that is a part of what we prayed for, that God
would open up doors to not just reach our county, but
to be concerned for other areas as well, and so the
doors are opening.
I just got a call yesterday from TV
50 saying that they would like to provide us an ongoing
one hour program. We’ve been wanting to break
into the main stream, so that could be an area of prayer,
so I meet with them on Tuesday at 4pm and see if we
as the Pastors Prayer and Ministry Alliance can take
over that aspect of it so that no crazy stuff gets on
the air, so I think that that is an open door.
I really believe that the media is
an avenue through which we need to get the gospel out
and we have been too passive in Christianity, because
we think that it cost too much. It doesn’t cost
too much. The devil doesn’t have more money than
God does. I commend you for your faithfulness. God is
working in a lot of ways and all of these things that
I am expressing are united efforts, so they are not
about one local church, they are about united things.
Things are happening in Italy, because churches are
uniting and things are happening here, because of that
and answering the prayer of Jesus.
We are up here at a high place. This
way is east, Sebastopol is right over there and Santa
Rosa is right there and directly behind you is Bohemian
Grove, and we are at a high place which is significant
in the spiritual realm. We won’t go into a huge
teaching on high places, but it is significant to be
at a high place. We are not going to be praying against
Bohemian Grove today. OK But what we are doing is we
are beginning to lay a foundation and establish the
Lord’s presence, and we displace the enemy by
walking in obedience. We crowd the enemy out as we advance
forward. Harry Skandera is now going to pass out the
sheet of paper with the prayer points for us to focus
on tonight within our small groups.
(Harry Skandera)
This part of the prayer meeting, we’re
going to do some work. We’re going to pray, but
we’re going to listen a little bit. You know that
there are places in the world that are like escalators.
You remember when Jacob laid down at Bethel and He said,
"Surely, God is in this place". He had this
dream and the angels were going up and down. I don't
think that that was an accident that was included in
scripture and you know, if you think that this is just
a some weird trip, all I'm asking is that you would
let your mind be a little open to the possibility. I
don't understand all of this totally, but I believe
that the Lord is birthing some things among us. In terms
of the way we pray, in terms of what we have faith for
to expect and I think that it is going to make all the
difference for Sonoma County.
First, let's read the scripture Psalm
19:1-4. The heavens declare the glory of God. The skies
proclaim the work of His hands, day after day they pour
forth speech. Night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language where their voice is
not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the end of the world.
Ok, I just want you to think about
this. I know when you look at this as a piece of literature
you say, "Wow! What a creative way that David has
expressed how the stars, they speak to us", but
I'm not so sure that he's trying to make a literary
point here. Whenever I've ever read this before, I've
always looked at this like, "Well sure, you get
the message of the stars, because you look at them and
you look at the constellation and there is the story
of the gospel in the stars. I mean there have been several
books written about it right? James Kennedy had a famous
book that came out about 15 years ago, about the gospel
in the stars, a tremendous book. It shows how the gospel
story is told in the constellations that have been ripped
off by the Zodiac. If I could just point this out to
you, the scripture says that the heavens declare, it
doesn't say that the heavens illustrate. It says, "The
heavens declare the glory of God. The sky’s proclaim
(not depict) the work of His hands", and then it
goes on to help us a little bit and says, "Day
after day they pour forth speech.", So that's right
now, because the stars aren't out yet, right? So, if
we actually took this literally, maybe something is
being said to us about the glory of God.
Maybe there is something being broadcast
to us from the stars when they aren't up, just maybe,
because the next phrase says that night after night.
Which we will probably see before we get out of here,
that the stars display knowledge, now there is a display.
I only point out the language, because
I think that it is important and again, whether there
is anything to this or not, I believe that if you'll
at least just open yourself to the possibility that,
maybe there are things about the glory of God that are
being spoken to us all the time. That might be one reason
why people are left without excuse like it says in Romans,
because of the testimony of the creation.
You see, I think that people are spoken
to, they are not just shown a picture, they get that
as well, but I believe that there is a literal thing
about this scripture. I wanted us to think about that
as we are up at this high place, because we are a little
closer than usual, this is "Inspiration Point",
and I was trusting tonight that a special configuration
of people, intercessors, people who come from near and
far, that there is a special reason for why you are
here.
July is special in Sonoma County, you
may not think about it, but in past July's we've had
some very significant City Reach Prayer meetings. Two
years ago, we walked special streets marked out by the
police that were particularly gang sensitive, in fact
they told us, "Look, we can't offer you any protection.
You've got to be off the streets before it gets dark,
or we can't guarantee anything for you". We had
about, maybe this number of people and we went out and
prayer walked those streets. We then went back to the
police sub-station and said, "Ok, let us know what
happens", because of course 4th of July like Cinco
de Mayo are really hot times for gang stuff. The report
was that they had an unusual amount of peace that night,
no gang violence. It was a testimony, but more than
that to us, it was casting a vision of what we can do
if we will proclaim the glory of God in our streets
and over our county. I state that tonight, because we
want to pray and we want to listen. It's happening right
now. Those signals are being sent.
(Prayer time)
(Harry Skandera)
So, what would it look like for God
to be proclaimed? Would it be that all of the trash
would be picked up like Sam was talking about in Italy?
Would everybody who wanted a job have a job? Do you
ever wonder what it would look like for the glory of
God in Sonoma County, I mean I'm just asking this. When
you think of the glory of God in Sonoma County, what
does that look like? Would ever business here prosper?
Would all of the relationships be healed? Would the
cops finally stop having to make their most hated duty,
which is domestic violence?
They hate that worse than anything
else and they are having more and more of it all the
time. Would the domestic violence in Santa Rosa and
Sonoma County be done with? Would there actually be
peace in our homes? Would all of the sicknesses not
unto death be healed? I bring allof this up, because
I think we pray not too little, but too small. I think
the Kingdom of God over our county is way bigger than
everybody getting a gospel tract. Because we've been
doing that, I mean, I'm not against that, but we've
been doing that for the last, (well, I'm at least 58)
so 50 years. My personal reflection and observation
is that we reflect the glory of God less now than we
did 20 years ago. You should be feeling something right
now. We're not getting it.
We have these promises, we know that
the glory of God is being proclaimed, so where is the
plug? How do we connect heaven with earth? Well, in
one of these little switch board meetings like tonight.
This is where heaven meets earth, right here with you
and me speaking the glory of God on earth as it is in
heaven. So I want you in your little groups right now
to ask the Lord, "What is your glory to look like
in Sonoma County?" and see what you hear, and then
let's pray that. Talk it over with your group and say
what you heard.
Don't argue about it or try to one-up
each other, you know what I'm saying, just give what
you heard. Maybe it's about your neighbor coming to
the Lord, just listen and then let's pray and declare
according to that. Let's take just a couple of minutes
to go quiet and ask the Lord to let us hear and then
we'll begin to share.
(Sam Tillery)
Ok, let's go ahead and share anything
in particular that you heard and it would be great if
you could articulate it in a phrase or two.
(Responses came forth)
In my work place this last Friday the
church group that meets there every Friday was given
a cheese cake and two people asked if they could come
to the church thing. And one of them came, so I have
to realize that I am an example and I have to clean
up my act a little bit, Because if I am going to be
a beacon of light then I better make sure that there
are no demons flying around me like these mosquitoes
are. We also need to keep reaching out to the young
peoples, because they have nothing to do on Fridays,
but to go drinking and whatever. So let's go praying
and gathering for dinner, like Steve and Debbie did
at their house tonight. The young man who was there
got to see an example of a couple who are loving and
who love each other, you know, what an example.
(Harry Skandera)
Ok, so if we were to summarize that,
what the glory of God would look like in Sonoma County
would be for every Christian to shed their light and
to connect.
(Other comments)
Yes, to connect. People are hungry
for connection.
I agree with that. I kind of envisioned
friend with friend sharing what Christ meant for them
and I think that's what our world needs right now. The
mass stuff doesn't work. I really see one on one. It's
one camper, its one church person sharing with a neighbor
or someone saying that this is really my life.
I was doing some journaling this morning
and the Lord was talking to me on this very topic. He
was mentioning the bloodshed on our streets and that
all the nations are in economic and social disarray,
and then He asked me the question. "Of what nation
is there on the earth now that it could be said of them
that there is peace and prosperity?” Then, He
did a little slide of hand and He said, "Of what
nation is there on earth where it is said, ye who have
no money come ye buy and eat, buy bread and drink without
money." You know, speaking of His kingdom was the
only nation that had that peace. That prosperity where
there was enough for everyone, where there was no end
of supply of bread or no end of feast in His kingdom.
So that is what He was speaking to me this morning,
that that's the only nation. The good news is that there
is a good nation to invite people to, where there is
peace and prosperity and none of those other things.
The glory of God in Sonoma County to
me looks like the church, us, going out and proclaiming
the kingdom that we already have, proclaiming the kingdom
that is within us to share. There is a kingdom where
there is no poverty, no sickness, where there is enough
bread to go around, enough peace and families, where
there is healing for the nations, it is there.
(Carol Skandera)
When I think of the glory of God I
think of the essence of His nature and it's not isolating.
The thing that is absolutely as critical as salvation
is, it's not the only thing. It's like, He encompasses
everything, just like the Sermon on the Mount and other
teachings He gave. It was how to get along and how to
spend your money, how to be responsible and how to pick
up trash in your city, it incorporated everything. And
when Harry said it's not just that we pray too little,
but it's that we pray too small. We're praying, "Oh
God, save this person. Save this person", but we
don't fill it up with the rest of His nature so that
they can become a whole person. It's like they think
if I just say yes then everything is ok. So I think
of His very nature affecting everything, from the very
earth that we live and walk on, to all these things
that Harry listed out. It's not that everybody would
be all of those things, but that they would be impacted
by all of those things through God's people.
(Other comments)
What came to my mind immediately was
one of the city's in the Transformation videos, where
everything was drastically changed, from the fruit of
the earth and through the villages and towns; the glory
of God was everywhere.
The glory of God is just radiating
on every face, it's everywhere and that's how I see
it. Do you remember right after seeing that transformation
video and you drove down the streets, in your minds
eye that was exactly what you saw? It imparted faith
to me, so that every store front that I saw every person,
I began to see the presence of the glory of God and
it changes.
I think that that is what the Lord
is speaking though, to see with His eyes, because that's
faith and it brings us into speaking that as truth.
You may be driving by the market and your praying for
the salvation of the owner of the market, then the next
thing you know your walking into the market giving the
owner a Purpose Driven Life book, or whatever, but it's
continuing to walk in seeing the glory of God, beyond
what your physical eyes see.
(Jeff Gillman)
I don't think that it's the glory of
God manifested in Sonoma County as so much found in
what we are doing. They may think that we are wondering
around aimlessly in confusion, but I believe the glory
of God falling on Sonoma County is when the people of
Sonoma County knows that the Lord is God and that the
Lord Himself is revealed and the people of Sonoma County
acknowledge that the Lord is God. That's what I see
God's glory falling on Sonoma County will look like.
The people will acknowledge the Lord as God.
(Harry Skandera)
That reminds me of a headline in our
paper, we haven't talked about it for a few years, but
when Dave Berta was mayor, he tried to institute prayer
to begin the city counsel meetings 14 years ago. It
was shouted down and then it was voted down, and the
headline in the paper said, "Santa Rosa, the town
that would not pray.", and that always stuck with
me, because that is the anti-thesis of what Jeff Gillman
is talking about. That is one of the reasons why we
are here, because Santa Rosa is meant to be a town that
prays.
(Jeff Gillman)
And God is moving, because headlines
in the paper on the National Day of Prayer, said that
Santa Rosa is praying.
(Other comments)
In John 17 Jesus states that His prayer
is not for them alone, but for all of those who will
believe in me through their message, that all of us
may be one just as the Father was in Jesus and Jesus
is in the Father, may He also be in us, so that the
world will believe that the Father sent Jesus. "I
have given them the glory that you gave me, that they
may be one as we are one".
What would arrest the city to make
them look, to take a second look, and one of the things
that I have seen over the years is that every church
says that, "We are the body of Christ".
For many years we have had a lot of
little Jesus' running around beating each other up and
the world doesn't believe it. But when the community
sees one body of Christ reaching the needs of the city,
I believe that will get us a second look. Just as you
have seen from the Mayor's response from the spring
clean, it is getting the attention and its beginning.
(Sam Tillery)
Two of the Mayor's that I spoke to
in Italy said that, we're coming to realize that whatever
we are going to do, we need to see if it is ok with
the spiritual leaders in the city first, before we do
anything else. That statement in itself came from the
fact that the church began to serve the community with
this festival of blessing that they blessed the city
and the children in the city.
Now the city leaders have called the
Pastor's in to sit with them and their decisions. They
are non-believers, but they see something about a united
church that carries authority and that they need to
listen to, that they haven't known how to listen to.
It shocked me that they were open and we held hands
with these people, once in the Mayor's office and once
in his home, and we prayed, but the door was opened
through what you just said.
I think that what God's wish is, well
what comes to me is that Christians should be happy
people, because your attractive when your happy and
your happy because you know that there is life beyond
death! I have recently become a widow and I can really
understand what a married widow is. People are looking
at me and asking me, "Can I be with you, can I
be with you", because they feel that God is in
my life and that God is taking me places to introduce
Him.
(Harry Skandera)
That brings us perfectly to the second
page. Philippians 2:14-16, "Do everything without
complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless
and pure children of God without fault in a crooked
and depraved generation. In which you shine like the
stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life,
in order that I may boast on The Day of Christ, that
I did not run or labor for nothing".
I ask that you would listen one more
time as we draw to a close. What are words of life?
You have an opportunity to shine like the stars everyday.
What are the words of life that you carry? Is it the
Gospel? Is it encouragement? Is it appreciation? Is
it wisdom? What is it? Each of us carries any or all
of those things. Can we do it without complaining or
arguing? Can we be blameless and pure? Let's spend the
last couple minutes in prayer around this verse and
about the words of life that God would bring through
us.
Just as the stars declare His glory,
as we too shine like stars, we too will be declaring
His glory.
(Prayer)
(Harry Skandera)
One of the things that we heard tonight
about the glory of God, we heard a lot of things, was
about the power of the Lord working through us and others
in relationships. As each of you were quickened in particular
things, I would look for confirmation of what it is
that you believed that you heard. Scripture says to
let everything be established with two or three witnesses.
I believe that when God is speaking
to us, if it is that important, He'll make sure that
we hear it enough times for it to sink in. Lastly tonight,
Psalm 119:1-4 again. I think that it is significant
that as we read this, the thing about the voice of the
stars goes out into all the earth, they are words to
the ends of the earth. That always has special meaning
to me, because if you count Jerusalem as the center,
we are the farthest land mass geographically from Jerusalem.
We are the ends of the earth and those stars speak even
all the way out here to us. I think that is very special.
Let us take heart and hope in that.
(Prayer)
(Sam Tillery)
Lord, release us now to go as lights,
as stars, as points of reference and stability in our
community, Father. We are those stars for which people
will gaze at and will lock onto for direction in their
lives.
Father, may we follow Christ and as
they follow us, they will come to know you and love
you. Thank you for this time that we could share together.
Scatter us now into our various communities and churches
to be salt and light for your honor and glory, and we
bless you in Christ's most precious name, Amen.
Our next meeting will be down off of
Santa Rosa Avenue at Juliard Park, where we will be
doing a prayer walk around the area, praying into and
for the City Kids Festival happening there in August,
which is an outreach to bless the children of our community.
The Pastors Prayer and Ministry Alliance is partnering
together with the Redwood Gospel Mission for this second
annual festival.
