What We Believe

About God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He exists eternally in three personalities: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and are one God.

About Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the light of the World. He is coequal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His Power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

About Salvation

Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self- improvement or good works. Only by trusting in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, God's offer of forgiveness, can man be saved from sin's penalty. Eternal life with God begins the moment one, by faith, trusts Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

About The Bible

The Bible is God's Word to all men. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the ONLY supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error.

2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20,21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 12:6, 119:105, 160;

About The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is coequal with God the Father and God the Son. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily.

About The Church

The universal church is comprised of all people, throughout the centuries, who through faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. A local church is any group of believers who gather together for worship, and evangelism of a lost world. Believers are to live their lives for the glory of God and the well-being of others.

George Otis JrPastors Prayer Fellowship was birthed in 1988 by two local pastors: John Strong and J. R. Young. They began to invite others to join them in prayer for the city of Santa Rosa. Soon a small group of pastors gathered every week to ask God how they could serve his purposes in the city? They soon found themselves praying for the youth of the city and inviting young people to come and share with the pastors how to pray for the needs of youth.

One of our prayer projects was a program to teach abstinence in public schools called "Free To Be." Today this course is taught in every secondary school in our city; in 2001, over 7,500 students participated.

The prayer group began to grow slowly as more pastors and ministry leaders heard about it. The mayor of the city, Dave Berto, donated some office space at his personal business location for the meeting and after about five years, the group would average about 15 each week.

Jim Argue and Dick Williams heard about a prayer movement called "Prayer Summits" and went to Marin County to hear a man named Tom White speak. We then planned a Prayer Summit with the Marin pastors and invited Tom White to come from Oregon and lead the Summit. We went away for four days of prayer, scripture reading and worship; we came back renewed and encouraged. We then changed the location to the present site at Larkfield Center and the time to Wednesday mornings from 8 to 9:30. The attendance immediately doubled and has been growing ever since. Pastors and leaders came who sensed that the Holy Spirit was prompting them to join others and pray for our city and county.

History of Pastors' Prayer Fellowship

Leonard RavenhillWe have our annual Prayer Summit with Tom White the second Monday through Thursday every October and God keeps bringing new leaders. There are over 100 pastors and ministry leaders who've attended the prayer meeting now, with an average of 30 to 50 attending on any given Wednesday morning.

For the past 14 years now, a growing group of pastors and ministry leaders have spent countless hours repenting on bended knee humbly asking God to heal our land (2 Chronicles 7: 14). Trust and relationship has grown through pastors praying together and this has brought healing and the changing of hearts in our congregations.

As a result, transformation is spreading across our county and we believe that revival will follow as we obey our Father in heaven and walk in humility, united in prayer.
