This is How Gods Glory came to Julliard Park

In many parts of the Bible, we can see God’s love and heart for children. In Mark 10:16 we see Jesus taking the children in His arms and blessing them and that is exactly what the City of Santa Rosa allow through the United Church's army of volunteers on August 27 2005 at the City Kids Festival in Juliard Park.

Aproximately 2300 children and families that came were blessed in a variety of ways. There was face painting, jump houses, games, temporary tattoos live music, a dunk tank, free food, snow cones, ice cream, and petting zoo animals.

For those families that pre-registered through the Redwood Gospel Mission, there was back-packs full of school supplies and often other goodies. There were approximately 2000 that were pre-registered and hundreds of others who came that were able to receive a backpack.

Before receiving their backpack, each child had to visit the Gospel beads bracelet tent. In this tent there were English and Spanish speaking volunteers who would hand each child a bracelet containing 6 colored beads each representing a different aspect of the Gospel and would share the Bible story with the children and often their parents too.

Hundred’s of the children and parents made a decision to put their faith in Jesus Christ and live under God’s love and forgiveness for them. Amen!

There was such a spirit of joy, generosity and love that came through the community that day. I know that the many prayers that were prayed through the local bodies, Redwood Gospel Mission and City Reach Prayer made a significant difference in road for God’s spirit of love to be so richly evident that day. We continue to pray for the children of our city, that all will have the opportunity and privilege to hear, respond to and experience the love of Christ.
